Pivot Prime
A French-inflected steakhouse near 132nd and West Dodge, set in dim, warm dining rooms with an open kitchen, a long bar and a glass-fronted dry-aging vault. Chef Joel Hassanali pairs American beef with French technique. Open for lunch and dinner and closed Sundays.
Pivot Prime is a modern, French-inspired steakhouse at 13665 California Street near 132nd and West Dodge, which its own site calls the only one of its kind in Omaha. It is run by Lucky Eleven Restaurant Group, and OpenTable's restaurant profile credits Gregg and Ashley Young as founders, with chef managing partner Joel Hassanali leading the kitchen. The Reader reported that it opened in early 2025 in the former Mahogany Prime space.
The rooms are dim and warm, with wood and rich tones, an open kitchen and a long bar anchoring the main dining room. A private room features a glass vault of dry-aged beef. The restaurant lists a business-casual dress code, is open for lunch and dinner, and is closed on Sundays. It markets itself for special occasions, celebrations and date nights.
The kitchen pairs American beef with French technique. Beef comes from Creekstone Farms in Kansas and is dry-aged on site, according to The Reader. Standouts include a beef tallow candle served with bread for dipping, a flaming 26-ounce tomahawk, filet Rossini with foie gras butter, and crack fries. French-leaning dishes include a short rib inspired by French onion soup, a Lyonnaise salad and stuffed chicken mousseline.
Pivot Prime suits anniversary dinners, business meals and groups who want a steakhouse with more creativity than the usual formula. The Reader listed dinner hours of 4 to 9 pm Monday through Thursday and 4 to 10 pm Friday and Saturday in 2025, and OpenTable lists weekday lunch, but confirm current times. Reserve through OpenTable, especially for weekends.
