Indian Creek Golf Course

Indian Creek is one of the bigger public golf operations in the metro, with 27 holes split into three nines: Red Feather, Black Bird and Gray Hawk. Each nine is a par 36, and you play any two of them for an 18-hole round.

Depending on the tees and loop, the course runs from about 5,100 yards to well over 7,000, so it can be gentle or very demanding. There are 65 bunkers and large bentgrass greens, and the open, rolling Elkhorn terrain means wind is often part of the story.

Off the course it is more of a full experience than most public courses. Approach is a sit-down restaurant, The Sand Room is a cocktail lounge with private simulators, and there are indoor and outdoor practice areas plus PGA instruction.

It is a strong pick for a group trip or a nice day out from west Omaha rentals, and it handles leagues, tournaments and events well.

Tips for your round

• Book online up to 10 days ahead; a credit card is required
• Cancel at least 12 hours out or you are charged the full green fee
• Rates include range balls, so arrive early and warm up
• Target pace is about 4 hours 13 minutes for 18
• Senior (60+) and military rates are weekday only
