Stone Creek opened in 2000 in northwest Omaha with the goal of offering a high-quality course at an everyday price. It has 27 holes split into three nines, Sandstone, Blackstone and Greystone, each a par 36, so you play a par 72 on any two of them.
The design packs in more than 90 bunkers and seven ponds, and a creek winds through several holes. Each nine runs a little over 3,100 yards from the back tees, and five sets of tees let you pick a length that suits your game.
The practice area is a big draw. The course calls its range the largest natural grass range in Nebraska, and there are lessons, leagues, simulators and a restaurant on site.
Stone Creek is a strong all-round choice for regular golfers staying in west or northwest Omaha, and the range makes it a good stop even if you only want to hit balls.
