Whispering Woods Golf Club

Whispering Woods is the new name for the course Council Bluffs golfers knew for years as Fox Run. A new owner took over in 2023 and has been working through renovations since, from the clubhouse to the practice areas.

The 18-hole layout sits on the south side of Council Bluffs, only a few minutes across the river from Omaha. It is a wooded, rolling course where tree lines shape most of the holes, and it plays as a comfortable round for average players.

The club runs as semi-private, with members getting priority tee times, but the public can book online. Off the course there is a lounge and bar, a pro shop, a party room and a Trackman simulator that keeps things going in winter.

It is a good pick for a relaxed, affordable round close to the Bluffs casinos and the Iowa side of the river, especially if you want a cart included in the price.
