Dodge Riverside sits on the Iowa bank of the Missouri River, about a mile from downtown Omaha by car, next to the Council Bluffs casino district. On a clear day you get long looks back at the Omaha skyline, which makes it one of the more scenic places to play close to the city.

The course dates back to the late 1920s and plays to par 72 at just under 6,500 yards from the black tees. The ground is mostly flat river bottom, and the short walks from greens to the next tees make it one of the easier full-length courses in the area to play on foot.

It is not a brute. Trees, the river setting and some well-placed hazards keep you thinking, but most visitors will find it a fair, enjoyable round. The Riverside Grille in the clubhouse is handy for lunch or a drink after you finish.

This is a good choice for travelers staying downtown or in the Old Market who want a full 18 without a long drive, and for groups who want a relaxed round with a meal afterwards.
