Steelhouse Omaha

A large standing-room concert hall on Omaha Performing Arts' downtown campus, booked by Live Nation with touring rock, country, hip-hop, Latin, EDM and comedy acts.

Steelhouse Omaha is a purpose-built live music and comedy venue at 11th and Dodge streets, on the same downtown campus as the Holland Performing Arts Center. It is presented by Omaha Performing Arts, the nonprofit that also runs the Holland Center and the Orpheum Theater, and its shows are booked by Live Nation as the exclusive promoter. Omaha Performing Arts lists the capacity at 3,000, which places it between the city's club stages and its arenas.

The calendar leans toward national touring acts. Recent listings span rock and metal, country, hip-hop, pop, Latin dance parties, EDM, funk and gospel, along with comedy and some community events. The main floor is usually general admission standing room, with balcony seating above. Local TV coverage before the opening noted that the floor can also be set with seats for certain shows, which brings the room down to roughly 1,500 (a reported figure, not an official one).

Food and drinks are sold at bars on each level, and the bars are cashless, though cash can be loaded onto a card at no charge. Club Seating and the Steelhouse Lounge, a private balcony bar, are sold as upgrades. The venue is all ages unless a show says otherwise, and some nights are posted as 18+ or 21+. A clear-bag policy applies: clear bags up to 12 x 6 x 12 inches or a small clutch, with a paid bag check by the box office.

Most concert tickets are sold through Ticketmaster links on the venue's event calendar, while community events go through Ticket Omaha. Parking can be bought ahead through ParkWhiz for the garage at 322 N. 12th Street, and metered street parking is nearby. Because the Old Market and downtown hotels are a short walk away, Steelhouse is easy to pair with dinner before the show.
