The Omaha Community Playhouse is one of the largest community theaters in the country, and its production of A Christmas Carol is the holiday show generations of Omaha families grew up on. 2026 marks its 51st year at the Playhouse.
The production follows Ebenezer Scrooge through his visits from the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come, using an adaptation by Charles Jones with music, period costumes and snowy Victorian London sets on the Hawks Mainstage.
It runs for about a month from mid-November to just before Christmas, with evening and matinee performances. It is family friendly and a perfect cold-weather night out for visitors.
