Earth Day Omaha is one of the longest-running Earth Day festivals in the region, and in 2026 it marked its 37th year. It takes over leafy Elmwood Park, next to the University of Nebraska Omaha, for a free midday event each April.
The festival is organized by the Green Omaha Coalition and brings together nonprofits, sustainability experts and local businesses. Expect booths on recycling, energy and conservation, an electric vehicle show, a tree climb, hands-on kids' activities and food trucks.
It is relaxed and very family friendly, and the park's trails and old trees make it a nice spring stroll even beyond the festival.
