Opera Omaha opens each season with Opera Outdoors, a free concert designed to make opera easy and fun for everyone. In 2026 it moved to a new home on the lawn at Stinson Park in Aksarben Village.
Professional soloists and the Opera Omaha Chorus perform well-known opera selections, mixed with pop and jazz touches and appearances by local community groups. The concert runs about an hour with no intermission, so it works well for first-timers and kids.
Before the music starts, a Kids Zone with interactive activities opens on site. Families spread out blankets, bring picnics and stay until the lights come up on stage.
If you are in Omaha during the last weekend of August, it is one of the nicest free nights out in the city.
