Santa Lucia Festival

The Santa Lucia Festival is Omaha's oldest Italian celebration, rooted in the Sicilian families from Carlentini who settled in the Little Italy neighborhood south of downtown. The 2026 edition was billed as the 102nd, making it one of the longest-running ethnic festivals in the Midwest.

The festival centers on 10th and Williams Streets, near the old Santa Lucia hall that was once a fire barn. Expect Italian food, music and neighbors catching up, along with the religious traditions honoring Santa Lucia that give the festival its name.

It is a small-neighborhood event rather than a giant production, which is the charm. Combine it with a meal or a cannoli at one of the Italian spots still operating in and around Little Italy.
