The Sarpy County Fair is the metro's most traditional county fair, held in the small town of Springfield south of Papillion. The 2027 edition will be the 90th annual fair, and it still has everything you picture: a carnival midway, 4-H barns, fair food and nightly grandstand events.
The grandstand lineup is the big draw. Recent fairs have included a tractor pull, extreme bull riding, a two-night rodeo, figure 8 racing and a demolition derby to close things out, plus a free night of music, a vendor expo and a grand parade through town.
It is run by the Sarpy County Agricultural Society, and it is an easy drive from Papillion, Bellevue or southwest Omaha for an evening of small-town summer fun.
