Shoreline sits in Carter Lake, the little Iowa town tucked against the north edge of Omaha, so it is one of the quickest tee times you can get from a downtown rental. The course wraps along the lake with bluegrass fairways, bentgrass greens and mature cottonwoods that frame a lot of the holes.
It plays as a par 72 at a little over 6,600 yards from the back, which makes it a fair test without being punishing. Water and trees come into play, but there is room to recover, and the forward tees are short enough for newer players and families.
The club itself points to the 13th as its standout, calling it the most scenic hole in the metro. Expect a relaxed, local feel with leagues during the week and a busy grill afterward.
It suits visitors who want a solid, reasonably priced 18 holes close to the city, and groups who want somewhere to eat and hang out after the round. Shoreline also partners with Dodge Riverside on a shared Missouri River golf pass.
