Westwood is one of the City of Omaha's municipal courses, a nine-hole par-3 tucked along West Center Road. At about 1,250 yards total, every hole is a short iron or wedge for most players.
It is the kind of course where nobody minds if you are learning. Families, juniors and people just picking the game back up make up a lot of the tee sheet, and a round rarely takes much more than an hour.
The city runs lessons, leagues and junior programs here, and there is a putting green and a small pro shop with snacks. There is no driving range.
If you have a free hour between plans, or want to bring the kids along, Westwood is an easy and inexpensive outing.
