Happy Hollow dates to 1907 and is one of the city's legacy private clubs. Its current course, a Langford and Moreau design, opened in 1924 and has been updated several times since while keeping its classic, tree-lined character.
The course plays to par 71 and a bit over 6,800 yards from the back, with steep slope ratings that tell you the greens and approaches are the real defense. Expect elevated greens, strategic bunkering and a lot of mature hardwoods.
Beyond golf, the club runs tennis, a pool and diving program, a fitness center, dining and event spaces, plus indoor simulators for the winter months.
Play is for members and their guests. Visiting golfers who belong to a private club at home may be able to arrange a round through their own head pro.
