Beercade

A classic arcade disguised as a craft beer bar on Maple Street, where pinball and cabinet games are free to play without a drink. Local guides cite 50+ taps and 100+ whiskeys. A solid group stop for a few rounds of games.

Beercade bills itself as Omaha's original arcade bar, set in the Benson entertainment district at 6104 Maple Street. The idea is simple: a pub where the entertainment is built in, with video cabinets, pinball tables and a full bar sharing the same two floors. The main floor mixes console-era favorites such as Donkey Kong, Galaga, Pac-Man, Tetris, NBA Jam and Skee-Ball with a deep row of pinball machines, including Medieval Madness, Attack From Mars, Twilight Zone, Tron and Jaws.

A party room upstairs holds roughly two dozen more classic cabinets and a few additional tables. On the drink side, the venue advertises a large rotating draft list alongside a full bar and canned beer. There is no kitchen, and the bar openly encourages guests to carry in takeout from neighboring Benson restaurants, which makes it easy to pair with dinner nearby.

It suits groups who want an activity rather than just a seat. Earlier in the day it is open to families with a guardian, while evenings are strictly adults. A pinball tournament runs on the second Sunday of each month, and the party room can be reserved for larger gatherings.

What to drink & do

  • Rotating draft beer list (the site cites 30 to 50+ taps)
  • Full bar with cocktails and canned beer
  • Pinball: Medieval Madness, Attack From Mars, Twilight Zone, Tron
  • Classic cabinets: Donkey Kong, Galaga, Pac-Man, Tetris
  • Skee-Ball, Golden Tee and NBA Jam
  • Pinball tournament, second Sunday of the month (1 pm, $10 entry)

Good to know

  • No food is served; outside takeout is welcome
  • Families with a guardian may use the arcade before 7 PM; after 7 PM it is strictly 21+
  • Party room available to rent for groups
  • The site's draft count is inconsistent (30 vs 50+), so call to confirm if it matters
