Kros Strain Brewing
A 17,000 sq ft La Vista brewery and taproom with new artwork and nods to Omaha history, a summer patio and winter fire pits. Twenty-plus taps plus cider, wine and non-alcoholic options; outside food is welcome and food trucks visit.
Kros Strain Brewing was founded in 2017 by Scott Strain and Bobby Kros, two homebrewers who started with a kit received as a gift. The La Vista taproom at 10411 Portal Road is the original, and the brewery also operates taprooms at Omaha Draft Works downtown and in west Omaha.
The La Vista space is a large brewery and taproom of about 17,000 square feet, with artwork that mixes modern pieces and nods to Omaha's past. It offers patio seating in summer, fire pits in winter and two rentable party rooms. The best-known beer is Fairy Nectar, a hazy IPA that comes in many variations.
Recent listings include Bernstein Bier Vienna lager, Krostoberfest festbier and the 8% Gas Station Cheeseburger double IPA. There is no kitchen, but food trucks visit regularly and outside food is allowed. It suits groups who want a wide tap list and room to spread out. Check the website's food truck calendar before a visit if you want dinner on site.
