Wilson & Washburn
A neighborhood bar and restaurant in a 19th-century Old Market building, styled as a comfy-yet-sophisticated nod to the area's bordello past. Mahogany paneling, vintage tintypes and a mezzanine called the Madam's Lounge set the scene, and it is popular before and after shows at the Orpheum.
Wilson & Washburn is a neighborhood craft beer and scratch-kitchen pub at 1407 Harney Street, in a restored 19th-century building at the edge of the former Sporting District and one block from the Orpheum. The name honors two early Omaha madams, Anna Wilson and Josie Washburn.
Its website calls out 24 craft and import beers on tap, a cocktail list with a house old fashioned, wine, scotch and THC drink options. The kitchen covers bar snacks such as a Scotch egg and pulled pork egg rolls, plus sandwiches, burgers and fish and chips. The upstairs bar and mezzanine can be booked for private events.
There is free Wi-Fi and charging under the bar. Happy hour runs Tuesday to Friday from 4 to 6 PM, with a reverse happy hour late on Tuesday and Wednesday and all day on Sunday. Weekend brunch runs 10 AM to 2 PM. It is convenient before or after a show.
