CHI Health Center Omaha is the city's downtown arena and convention center, set just north of the Old Market. It hosts concerts, sports and conventions, and for many visitors it is the main reason to be in this part of town on a game or show night.
Two teams call the arena home: the Creighton Bluejays men's basketball team and the Omaha Supernovas volleyball team. The venue also hosts NCAA basketball and volleyball championships, professional wrestling and the annual Berkshire Hathaway shareholders' meeting, typically the first Saturday of May. The upcoming calendar on the arena's site lists everything from business luncheons to concerts. Examples at the time of writing include Creighton exhibition and regular-season games and a country concert tour stop, so it is worth checking which dates line up with your stay.
Beyond the arena, the building includes a large convention center: 194,000 square feet of exhibition space, over 63,000 square feet of meeting space across 16 rooms and a 30,996-square-foot ballroom. An expansion is expected to finish by summer 2027, and construction nearby is currently causing traffic changes. The box office is open weekdays, with extended hours on event days, and tickets are available through it or Ticketmaster. Review the venue's policies on clear bags, cash-free entry and ADA accommodations before arriving.
