Zootacular is the Henry Doorly Zoo's Halloween night out. On select October evenings the zoo stays open after dark with glowing pathways, costumed characters and trick-or-treat stations along a stretch called Treat Street.
Live entertainment runs throughout the night, from fire performers to magicians, and guests can visit animal habitats after hours, which is a rare treat at one of the country's most visited zoos. It is aimed at families, with frights kept friendly rather than scary.
The zoo has run a Halloween evening event since 2019, when it launched Ghouls and Glow; Zootacular is the current version, presented by Veridian Credit Union.
Costumes are encouraged. Bring a bag for treats and dress for a chilly evening.
