Bay Hills sits in the Buccaneer Bay lake community just north of Plattsmouth, about 25 minutes south of downtown Omaha. The course climbs and drops over rolling hills that look out over the Platte and Missouri river valleys.
It is a par 72 that plays around 6,350 yards from the back, with four sets of tees down to under 4,800, so it works for a wide range of players. The hills and tree lines matter more than the length.
Two tees stand out for the views: the 11th looks over the Buccaneer Bay lakes and the 12th looks down on the Platte. Wildlife sightings are common.
The clubhouse is open all year for food and drinks, even for non-golfers, which makes it a nice stop on a drive through Cass County.
