Tregaron opened in 1997 in south Bellevue and was designed by Craig Schreiner with a Scottish links feel in mind. Fairways roll over mounds, pot bunkers dot the landscape, and the greens are large with plenty of slope.
Water is a big part of the story. Creeks, wetlands and four lakes come into play on about half the holes, so accuracy matters more than raw distance. At about 6,500 yards and par 71 from the back, it is a solid test without being punishing for the average player from the forward tees.
The clubhouse has a pro shop, the Castle Bar and Grille, and indoor golf simulators for off-season play and leagues. Lessons and events are also on offer, and the course has picked up local Best of Bellevue recognition.
Tregaron is a good fit for golfers who like strategy and variety, and for anyone staying in Bellevue, Papillion or near Offutt who wants a quality public 18 with fair pricing.
