Eagle Hills is one of two city-run courses in Papillion, about 15 to 20 minutes south of downtown Omaha. It opened in 2000 and winds through a residential development, with rolling fairways, sculpted bunkers and plenty of water from lakes, creeks and wetlands.

From the back tees it stretches to about 6,500 yards at par 72, with a slope that makes it a fair but real test for better players. Four sets of tees bring it down to a comfortable length for casual golfers, so groups of mixed ability can all enjoy it.

The practice area is a highlight: a big teeing ground, target greens and a three-hole academy course for working on your short game. The clubhouse is open year-round with a pro shop and a meeting room that seats up to 200, and PGA professionals offer lessons by appointment. Green fees are very reasonable for a course of this quality.
