Knolls is a City of Omaha course tucked into a northwest Omaha subdivision, roughly 20 minutes from downtown. It is a classic neighborhood track where homes line many holes and regulars fill the tee sheet in the evenings.
The two nines feel quite different. The front is mostly level, framed by grassy mounds and trees, and gives you a chance to build a good score. The back nine opens up but gets much hillier, so you will face plenty of uphill and downhill lies, and a few water hazards come into play.
At just over 6,100 yards and par 71, it is a reasonable length for most golfers, though the slope rating shows it plays tougher than the scorecard suggests. There is a putting green and chipping area but no driving range, and city rates keep it one of the better values in west Omaha.
