Lake Ridge Golf Course

Lake Ridge is a nine-hole public course in the Beaver Lake area just outside Plattsmouth, about half an hour south of downtown Omaha. It opened in 1999 and plays to par 36 at a little under 2,900 yards from the back tees.

The layout makes good use of the terrain, with rolling fairways, several small lakes, and bunkers placed to catch drifting tee shots. Two par 5s, one of more than 500 yards, give it a full-course feel, while a couple of short par 4s offer birdie chances.

The clubhouse doubles as Lake Ridge Golf and Sports Bar, with 17 TVs and a full menu of burgers, sandwiches and flatbreads. It stays open into the evening, so it works for a round and dinner in one stop.

It is a good fit for travelers heading to Plattsmouth or the lake communities, casual golfers, and anyone who wants a scenic, inexpensive nine away from city traffic.

• Play it twice for a full 18 at a very low price.
• Seniors (60+) and juniors (18 and under) get reduced weekday rates.
• Cart fees are charged per player.
