Huber Haus
A Bavarian-style bier hall in the basement beneath Crescent Moon, with long wood tables, mounted deer and boar heads and paneled walls. It serves German beers and a pork-forward German menu, and is home to Das Boot.
Huber Haus is the bier hall downstairs from Crescent Moon Ale House at 36th and Farnam, in the stretch of Blackstone long known as Beer Corner U.S.A. Local press has described the room as decorated in the style of a traditional German bier hall, with long wood tables, deer and boar heads on the walls and wood-paneled surroundings.
The hall has its own menu, and some traditional German dishes are available only down here. Past coverage described a mostly pork-based lineup, including schnitzel (also served as a sandwich on a Kaiser roll), sausages and Black Forest ham, plus snacks such as fried pastry-wrapped Reuben and brat-and-kraut bites and imported Bavarian pretzels. Treat that menu as a guide, since it comes from older press.
The beer list leans German, including Bavarian beers not poured upstairs, and the hall is home to Das Boot, the glass boot served with its own house rules. It is a good fit for groups who want a loud, communal evening. Confirm that it is currently open and check hours before you go.
