Nite Owl Blackstone
A festive Blackstone cocktail bar with quirky decor and a rotating seasonal menu that has included sangria on tap and a boozy slushie. A late-night kitchen turns out globally inspired food such as crab rangoons and burgers.
Nite Owl sits at 3902 Farnam St on a corner of Blackstone that stood vacant for decades before Greenslate Development bought the lot in 2014. It was opened by Noah Mock and Katie Timperley Mock, who saw that the neighborhood had few late-night food options and set out to create a place for a good cocktail and solid bar food.
Inside, the feel is a retro basement bar: a large L-shaped sunken bar, dim lighting, a jukebox and a projector that often plays obscure movies. An east-side patio under a pergola is a popular spot for watching the street. The venue also stages festive pop-ups around Halloween and the winter holidays, and a companion bar, The Nest, sits next door.
The menu is built for late hours, with burgers, wings and totchos alongside vegetarian and vegan choices, and the cocktail list rotates by season. Our listing mentions sangria on tap and a boozy slushie in past seasons. Nite Owl works well for a casual group dinner, a movie-night drink, or a post-show bite, when many Blackstone kitchens have closed.
