Anna's Place

A speakeasy-style cocktail bar inside Hotel Indigo, named for Omaha's 'Queen of the Underworld' Anna Wilson. Find the door past the front desk and wait for the light to turn green before knocking; inside are red lights, a 30-seat lounge and drinks made with house-made sodas and syrups.

Anna's Place is a speakeasy-style cocktail bar inside Hotel Indigo at 1802 Dodge Street. The name nods to Anna Wilson, the Omaha madam known as the Queen of the Underworld, and the drinks carry names drawn from figures in that era of Omaha and Nebraska lore.

The room is a low-lit lounge of about 30 seats, with velvet chairs, red lights and local art. Entry is first come, first served: ring the bell when the light is green, and if it is red the bar is full. Groups are capped at eight and there are no reservations.

The cocktails are made from scratch with house-made sodas and syrups. The menu runs from old fashioneds with names like Anna Wilson and Mattie Silks to fizzy highballs and nonalcoholic options, and no food is served. Tarot Tuesday runs every Tuesday evening. It is a good pick for a conversation-focused drink for small parties.
