Cibo Vino
A locally owned Italian-inspired restaurant and wine bar in the Old Market, with a patio and a bar fronted by tall windows. Dishes are made from scratch and the wine list is a major draw.
Cibo Vino is an Italian-inspired restaurant and wine bar at 1101 Jackson Street, on the corner of Jackson and 11th in the Old Market. It opened in May 2023, owned by executive chef Don Doty and operations partner Wendy Becker, whose grown children also work in the restaurant. Their motto is Celebrate Life, one meal at a time.
The kitchen makes regional Italian food from scratch, and Visit Omaha highlights the house-made pasta, friendly service and a roomy patio for people-watching. Two private rooms are available, one seating up to 30 and one up to 60. Dishes noted by Visit Omaha and Omaha Magazine include mussels, spicy meatballs, a beet and goat cheese salad, fennel citrus salmon, pappardelle bolognese, saffron shrimp risotto, grilled octopus, tiramisu, hazelnut panna cotta and cannoli.
The wine list is mostly Italian with some California and Chilean bottles. It's closed Mondays, and opens late afternoon on weekdays and at noon on weekends, so it works for an early dinner or a long Sunday lunch. Reservations are taken by phone or on the website, and the restaurant also publishes a kids menu and a happy hour menu.
