Memoir
A book-themed restaurant at The Mercantile in the Brickline district, with red booths, arched mirrors and shelves of old books. It serves brunch, lunch, happy hour and dinner, with a menu that pairs steaks and chicken with sushi rolls and cocktails. Part of Flagship Restaurant Group.
Memoir is a book-themed restaurant at 930 Harney Street, on the northeast corner of 10th and Harney in the Mercantile building in the Brickline district. It is operated by Flagship Restaurant Group, which describes it as a signature grill. The company's co-owner Anthony Hitchcock and chief culinary officer Tony Gentile led the concept, according to local press. Literary touches run through the details, from menus labeled Author's Notes and Musings to a private dining room called The Library.
Inside are wooden tables, bookshelves, wall art, a vertical garden, an open kitchen and a large circular bar, and a patio wraps the corner facing 10th Street. The menu mixes grill fare and sushi. Expect starters like hearth-roasted beets and wagyu carpaccio, salads, pastas, a charcoal chicken, trout and salmon, flat iron and filet steaks, and sandwiches such as the Wagyu Memoir Dip.
Sushi rolls include the Tsunami Maki, and the cocktail list includes a corn margarita. Memoir serves brunch, lunch, dinner and a weekday happy hour from 3 to 6 pm, which makes it flexible for groups with different tastes. Gluten Sensitive and Kids menus are offered, and it sits within walking distance of the Old Market, Gene Leahy Mall and the CHI Health Center.
