The Mill on Leavenworth
A coffee shop in an art deco building at 31st and Leavenworth, with a wall of books, soft lighting and a bar that serves beer, wine and cocktails in the evening. It is a laptop-friendly place for coffee and baked goods by day.
The Mill on Leavenworth is the Omaha cafe of The Mill, a local coffee roaster. Per the company site, it opened in early 2023 and is its first of its kind. The building dates to 1932 and has been a Safeway, a Glidden Paints store and a uniform shop. The company site calls this location number five in its set of cafes and says it was the first Omaha shop.
The Art Deco space is decorated in gold and glam touches, and its library wall is a favorite photo spot. A heated patio with fire tables extends the seating into cool evenings, and a drive-thru window off Leavenworth serves guests on the go. The menu includes coffee, tea and cocktails.
Hours are generous: the cafe is open from 7 am to 10 pm daily, with the drive-thru running 6 am to 5 pm. That stretch makes it equally good for a morning latte and an evening drink. It is a natural stop for visitors exploring Midtown and the Leavenworth corridor who want a relaxed place to work or meet.
