Secret Park Lounge
A remodeled neighborhood bar in the former Bud Olson's building on Leavenworth, reopened in September 2023. It keeps the old skylight and back patio, with dim lighting, lots of greenery and a craft cocktail focus.
Secret Park Lounge is a cocktail bar at 3207 Leavenworth St, in the building that for decades housed Bud Olson's Bar, one of the city's long-running neighborhood dives. Local press traces the building's earlier life as Smitty's and then Bud Olson's before it reopened as Secret Park Lounge in 2023.
The remodel kept the old skylight over the bar and the back patio, and added dim lighting and lots of greenery. The result is a darker, plant-filled room with a craft-cocktail focus, which sets it apart from the classic dive that came before while preserving some of the building's character.
Secret Park is part of a cluster of bars along Leavenworth, near Meadowlark Lounge and Another Cocktail Bar, so it works well as one stop on a walkable evening in the Gifford Park and Midtown area. It suits couples and small groups, and the patio is the place to be on a mild night.
