Backlot Taphouse
A casual Aksarben taphouse built around Detroit-style square pizza and a rotating list of 25+ taps. Trivia nights, daily happy hour and live music keep it social.
Backlot Taphouse is a craft beer bar and pizza kitchen in Aksarben Village, off South 67th Street. It is built around two things, a long tap wall and Detroit-style pizza, with a kitchen that also covers wings, fries, burgers and a Philly-style sandwich. The signature pie is a square, deep-dish Detroit style on Sicilian-style dough, with a caramelized cheese crust and the sauce ladled on top.
Pizzas are sized for one or two people, and options range from a pepperoni Cadillac with hot honey to a veggie, a prosciutto and arugula Uptown, and a bourbon BBQ chicken. The bar lists 30 rotating taps covering Nebraska craft, regional, domestic and imported beers, with local breweries such as Kros Strain, Lucky Bucket and Infusion often on the list.
Staff can suggest pours, and flights are available for sampling. It suits groups who want to share a pizza and try several beers. The venue advertises a daily happy hour, trivia nights and live music, and offers online ordering through Toast along with private events and catering. The pizza menu also carries a gluten-free crust option.
