Herbe Sainte

New Orleans-inspired restaurant and cocktail bar in the middle of Aksarben Village, opened in 2016. The menu covers Cajun and Creole plates and weekend brunch, with a daily happy hour from 4 to 6 pm.

Herbe Sainte is a New Orleans-inspired restaurant and cocktail bar at 1934 South 67th Street in Aksarben Village. It was founded by the owners of SamFam LLC, Ron Samuelson, Justin Halbert and Aaron Halbert, who were inspired by repeated trips to New Orleans and wanted to bring some of that city's feel to Omaha through the food, drinks and interior.

The menu covers Cajun and Creole cooking: gumbo, a muffuletta, a roast beef po' boy, jambalaya made with chicken or crawfish, crawfish etouffee, shrimp and grits, and a Cajun mac and cheese. Starters include Nola shrimp, crab cakes and a meat board, and desserts include a king cake bread pudding.

The bar is a major part of the draw, with classics like the Sazerac, Vieux Carre, Hurricane and Corpse Reviver No. 2, plus seasonal bartender's cocktails, barrel-aged cocktails and frozen drinks. Happy hour runs daily from 4 to 6 pm. Weekend brunch adds items like Bananas Foster French toast and a cornbread-and-boudin plate. It works for group dinners, drinks before or after a show, and weekend brunch. Reservations and a waitlist are handled through Toast, and the menu marks gluten-free and dairy-free items.
