Louie M's Burgerlust
A family-run diner on Vinton Street at the southern edge of Little Bohemia, owned by Louis Marcuzzo. It started in the early 1980s as a catering business and grew into a neighborhood breakfast and burger counter. Green chili is a theme, from the smothered breakfast burrito to the burgers, and the guacamole burger is a regular favorite.
Louie M's Burgerlust is a family-run diner at 1718 Vinton Street, on the southern edge of Little Bohemia in South Omaha. Owner Louis Marcuzzo started it in the early 1980s as a catering business that cooked for local daycares. Over time it became a hangout for his friends, the menu grew, and it settled into the neighborhood breakfast-and-burger spot it is now, with his son Jack helping run it.
It's a straightforward, unfussy place where regulars and families come in for a hearty breakfast or a burger at lunch. Prices have long been modest, and KMTV featured it in its Cheap Eats series, reporting average checks of about $8 by day and $11 at night in 2019 (those figures are now dated, so expect higher prices).
Green chili runs through the menu. The breakfast burrito comes smothered in it, and it shows up on burgers too. The guacamole burger and the green chili breakfast burrito are the two items the family points to as the most popular, alongside classic breakfast plates that bring in a steady morning crowd.
Go for a late breakfast or an early lunch, especially if you're exploring Vinton Street's older storefronts nearby. The most recent published hours we found are from 2019, when it was mainly a morning-and-lunch operation with some evening hours late in the week, so call ahead before you make the trip.
