Lumen Beer is a small craft brewery and taproom at 1433 South 13th Street in Little Bohemia. The brewery describes itself as the product of a decade of creative ideas and basement brewing experiments, and its stated aim is to bring its own take on craft beer to Omaha, brewing the kinds of beer its team likes to drink.
The taproom is a low-key place to sit with a pint on the 13th Street strip, within a few doors of Tiny House Bar and Archetype Coffee. It keeps afternoon and evening hours from Tuesday through Thursday, opens at noon on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, and stays closed on Mondays.
The beer leans experimental, with hoppy beers, sours and high-gravity styles in the rotation, so the lineup changes as new batches come out. The current tap list is posted on Untappd, which is the best place to see what's pouring, and the brewery announces new releases on its Instagram account.
Stop in if you like trying small-batch beers that you won't find elsewhere, or use it as one leg of a Little Bohemia bar-hop with Fizzy's and Tiny House Bar. Keep in mind that it closes early on Sundays, at 6 p.m., so plan Sunday visits for the afternoon and check Untappd first.
